I have to share this set of china with everyone. It is such a gorgeous set. get ready to be jealous ;)
It's a breathtaking set of china, circa 1896. Well maybe I'm a bit bias, this set is very dear to my heart. It was my great great grandmothers, who was given the set as a wedding present in 1896 by the Michigan state senate. Pretty impressive huh? That isn't the reason I love this set so. It is because it was handed down each generation and became my grandmothers. Every time I look at the set of dishes, I can smell the turkey roasting and the biscuits baking. I can hear my grandmother yelling at anyone who dares to enter her kitchen. I can feel the anticipation of the good food waiting for indulgence. To some, this set may just look like a group of old dishes, but to me it is an entire childhoods memories of our time together as a family. I love this set and I am so happy that it has made it into my home. I just hope that I am able to give my children, and someday grandchildren, the great memories I have from it.
I am thinking I need to add at least one, if not two, glass cabinet doors to my kitchen cabinets. I would love to display this set. Here is a pic of the perfect glass cabinet doors. I ADORE them!!
What do you think?
Happy Tuesday!
